im getting really antsy now that i havent seen the 09's yet. i placed my order on one but i still dont even know what it looks like. i was told that they would be on the kawi site on the 20th WTF still not on. does anyone know anything about when well be getting these beasts or at least when well see them on the site?? im going through withdrawl....ive basically memorized the 08's stats and everything. I NEED TO SEE MY 09!!!

I was hoping for an update too, but it was just an internet rumor. But the Kawi dealer meeting is in Sept., and that's where the dealers see the new models in person and place their orders for the coming year.

I would expect the specs to be updated around the same time. I really doubt that there will be any major changes, but there might be some new colors.

Remember the previous model was unchanged for 20 years, and after a huge redesign, we'll probably have this style for at least 10.

crap they did fall meeting thing last year and dragged their butts releasing them. They will lose a lot of interest if they jack everyone around again on the 09's.

We saw them in person at the Seattle show released about March but only a few at a time.

new colors would be fun. It would be nice to see some updating on the swing arm. I think the chain tensioner has been the same since wwII
But that is how they can keep them affordable by using and reusing design.

I would've expected the 08s to show up a bit late, since they were getting a new model launched.

Now that the line is running, it's just a matter of changing the date stamped on them, and updating the paint booth.

I'm guessing we'll see a silver for either 09 or 10.

Hey now, I said the meeting was the 20th, or that was when they'd decide about the remaining 08's. Either way I was only repeating what my dealer told me... I still gotta call him about my deposit...

They are released in NOVEMBER! I was going to pre-order, but I'll settle with an '08, because the '09 is the exact same bike.

Also im hearing through the grapevine that not only are they going to be the EXACT same bike but they are also going to be adding $1000-$1500 MORE to the price tag. Just a FYI. Not sure if its true but ive heard it from more then one person that works with Kawasaki.

if they add that much its just cause of the bike demand. so many people want this bike. but i talked to some dealers too. all mine said if it goes up at all it will be around 200 to 300 dollars. i asked about 1000. none of them thought it would go up that much.
