Hi guys

Bought my rear wheel race stand (with hooks) today. I'm sure I read somewhere that Kawasaki's use 10" bolts for the knobs that need to be fitted to the swing arm.....the guy at the motorcycle shop thought so to.

Brought them home and doh! Way too big.

What size does the Ninja 650 2012 model take?

You should be able to find some on eBay made specially for yours not sure of the size I would say M6-8 usually though

Weird cause the 10" are too big for the thread....wonder if the sizing changed for the 2012 model?

Everything I've read here says 10mm. Looked at the bolts....they are about 11mm if measurements are correct.....either way they aren't going in.....they've given me the wrong bolts somehow...another odd thing is both bolts are different lengths....

Might just get some off eBay and see how it goes.

I have seem some spools show a smaller thread...8mm....
I thought those would be for a smaller bike like a 250 or 300..?
10mm metric machine bolts fit my 2012 Ninja 650....
They did go in a bit hard tho.... dirt in the threds....
I have to screw them in and out a buncha times to clean the threds...:thumb:

My zx10r uses a 8mm and my r6 uses a6mm. I havent had luck with books saying the right measurements. I went to a local shop and bought a 5,6,8,9 mm. Found the one that fit. Cost me 1.00 and a little change and i found it. Then shopped on line for mine

Yeh the 10mm are definitely too big.

Went into a Kawasaki dealer and told him that and he agreed....everything online points to them being 10mm but they aren't. I asked him what size and he said 8mm. They didn't have any in stock unfortunately.

I went to another dealer and bought some 8mm and they are too small.....wahhhh

I will get the Kawasaki dealer to order some in for me.
