Geez with the fuel pricing and the influx of bikes on the road . I can't go a weekend without some crappy news of bike accident or death.

And then everyone chatters about it because YOU ride a bike.. did ya hear"...???. you want to just say Shut the f up.

Last weekend A bike was cut off and hit so hard the car flipped over.
He was speeding and the car cut him off , I am sure of it by the looks of the picts not intentionally. No one wants to go there like that.
2 dead on that one..car and bike. crap.

Please all of us including me. Stop and check our frame of minds when we get ready to go out . Our 250s can get us in trouble just as fast as a 1000. If you are mad or distacted take a break.

Group rides are fun too but don't get hopped up in showing off and it is soooo easy to want to impress.
we have alot of new riders. Ride smart.
Just feeling a little bummed by the news and just needed to say this to help remind me to keep safe and you too.

yes,...i drove through an intersection yesterday 2 bikes collided? i dont knwo what happened but both bikes looked pretty smashed up and they had the people on stretchers one died i believe i donno tho.
Thanks zartan! Good to see you really care about your fellow riders. That is some great advice; "Check your frame of mind." I know I am not focusing on riding and my surroundings if someone pisses me off...and its not worth dying or getting injured because you are pissed.
would listenin to an ipod while driving be a distraction can you even hear good with your helmet on anyways?
I ride with music every now and then. If you are riding on the highway (like 45mph+) you can't hear anything anyway, so you should be checking mirrors and relying on knowing whats around you. When I will be stuck in traffic or taking surface streets I don't listen to music because there have been numerous times when I have HEARD a car that I didn't SEE.
oh okay ill be riding mostly surface streets not so much freeway if that at all, good to know
/pulls up into intersection
/Car driver winds down window "Haha, Howdy, Nice bike, looks new, So you decided to get a coffin on wheels eh?"
/Hah..Yeah.. Apparently
/Hehe, Yeah well they're death traps y'know!, Enjoy your day!
Really? I thought they didn't bother to talk to you before they cut you off or ran you over. What a nice fellow.
Thats a pretty infrequent occurance riding around here, But it's not a one off thing by any means.

+1 I like this. Keeps us all in check.
Good tip dude i know iget carried away speeding on the highways or showing off but everytime i see my self doing that i got to really tell my self HEY wat the fuk dude
Here in my home town of byron, people have no idea how to use their indicators correctly. Sometimes they indicate when they shouldn't and the rest of the time they forget about it all together. When driving my car, i always have my lights, even during the day. I have found this reduced the number of people who will cut me off and it increases my cars visibility.

As much as i am looking forward to riding my new ninja, I am also dreading taking such an attractive piece of machinery out on the unruly roads of Byron bay for fear of some naive driver smashing into me.

Unfortunately I can see a trend in the offending drivers. It does tend to be the middle aged woman, driving her GIANT SUV (that will never see any off-road use) whilst either talking on her mobile or putting on make-up in the mirrors, or both at once! I guess when your safe inside 5 tons of steel you don't care if you hit anything? not even that young sole who just saved up for a year to buy their first sports-bike.

This topic rubs me the wrong way..... /weep
See less See more
all us middled aged women have nothing better to do than talk on our phones and put on makeup WTF, I don't even wear makeup.

I have been cut off driving and riding by all sorts of people. You have to look out for everyone and anticipate stupid moves by them all.

catchup!
you have just been passed by a middle aged woman.... on her ninja. My SUV is at home.

stay safe and have fun!!
No disputes there, riders should be aware of everyone on the road. I merely made an observation about trends in my own town.
some fool almsot side swiped me and eveything today in my car, i was so pissed he met my middle fniger though! and a big up yours biach haha! :p! haha then i guned it ;D

isnt this road rage?-lol
haha it happens. i get very angry when someones about to hit my car for being stupid idiots and not paying attention, i spent like a year and a half saving my paychecks and not doing anything so i can save to buy my car in full. so yah i would get a little mad if they almost hit me and ruin my car i worked for. :p

+1 Trust nobody out there, you can be the best in the world an idiot can ruin you......
Just left a gas station on HWY 2 and so did a guy with a boat and trailer. You have to wick it up to 60 pretty quick. the SOB had to almost stop because someone was turnig off the highway in front of him .That is all good BUT...

I had to lock it up crazy like because HE HAD NO BRAKE LIGHTS on the trailer and was such a beast I could not see anything in front of him. I wasn't following too close but we were all wicking it up to get to the speed limit and then everything stops.
If you pull a trailer make sure your all lights work.

Another one "OFF with their heads said the queen" ,,, geeezzzzz jackass.
