Be been waiting for my 2012 650 for a week and it's still a week away. No one in Pittsburgh has one in green!!!! Can't wait!!!!!

Came into a turn too hot and washed out into the center lane. Laid it down. The bike met the left front of an oncoming car. I cleared the car, tucked and rolled, and other than a few minor scrapes on my knees was fine. Admittedly I was going too fast and caused the accident. The driver of the car was a 16 year old girl on her permit learning to drive with her mom. I felt soooooo bad. She thought she killed me. She had such a look of horror when she got out of the car and cried the whole time. It really taught me how careful we need to be on the road. Sure we need to protect ourselves, but the people out there on 4 wheels have lives and families too. I can't wait to ride again and I really miss my 250 but I have a new respect for the road.

Thank you for sharing. We here at NN are glad you learned a valuable life lesson, and Leidner mess yourself up badly! It's sometimes scary to read and hear those kind of stories. Me not having my moto yet, I sometimes wonder will I make that mistake and get hurt?

goku, good story, and with your attitude I don't feel the need to point: "oh, wrecked a 250 and now you're upgrading to a 650" at you, since you seem to have your head on straight....

Think about possibly entering an advanced course, going to a track, or putting in more time at a parking lot?

As a Ricky Racer on the road for a while, I'm simply sharing advice based on my experiences of my own prior bad judgement....
