do any of you know any tripods that fit in a backpack? I ride my ninja daily and carry a Lowepro backpack with a 2Ti and a 50mm so I have some space in there to stuff a small tripod but I cant seem to find any. most are discontinued and the few small ones out there are not sturdy enough to hold a DSLR.

What about strapping one to the outside of your backpack? I have seen quite a few backpacks that even have webbing etc especially for that purpose.

I rock a manfrotto monopod and a manfrotto MP3 compact tripod.

Tri-pod is ideal, but I also carry a small bean-bag. W/ the bean-bag you can bunch it up the way you want to set the camera on. I've used it quite a bit while hiking. Just make sure it's big enough to support the lens when needed.

I also use a gorilla pod with my compact camera.
