I know this forum is very encouraging for safe riding and good riding practices. I agree 100% that everyone should be safe, but occasionally I let speed get the best of me. I'm only trying to start up some conversation here now that the season is winding down ha. Just curious, what are some of the top speeds some of guys have hit on your bikes? Whether clocked by speedometer (I know digital speedometers are sometimes off unless you have a speedo healer) or caught by radar gun (I know some of us are guilty ha). Post what bike you ride or rode and what speed you hit.

I ride an 07 zx6r and according to my speedometer I hit 145mph

I've not hit anything close to "top speed" for many years, but the highest I've seen was about 155.

Our race bike topped out about 130, which seemed pretty fast until one day in an Endurance Race a Superbike - ridden by Kevin Schwantz - blew by at about 160 a foot or so off of my barend. You felt pretty slow after that...

I do want to go to Bonneville or Ohio and do some LSR eventually though. 200 would be neat.

After being on the track going fast on the street is so uncontrolled it's not even fun.

Have to agree, there are just too many factors to consider when riding at high speeds on the streets.

The r6 does 178 top end!!! The zx10 goes over 204. I stopped looking at the speed odometer at 204 but was still climbing. I think it will probably top at 215-218. None clocked by radar All by digital speedo

Can you really feel the difference between the zx10 and zx6? I mean obviously it has more hp but riding can you feel it pull a lot harder, etc?

definitely feel a power difference. It does pull harder but where you see the difference the most is when you take off in lower Rpms It pulls as if the zx6 was higher in Rpms. And then again you see the difference when you peg a zx6 from 60 to 150 for example it may take 12 seconds. On the zx10 it takes about 4-5 seconds.

you can feel it but looking at the speedo it's more noticeable plus on a 600 when you get to say 145 the acceleration starts to slow with the zx10r it just kept pulling all the way to 180!
