I'm kind of surprised that being a Firefighter is the #1 most stressful job. I would think like a trauma nurse or a Paramedic would make more sense.

Guess I should start saving up for a therapist. lol Oh wait its called a ninja 250r!!!
Yeah I agree, good to see my profession wasn't on any of those lists!

Roustabout, can't believe they still use that word!

Felix

Yeah and what about aircraft controllers? I was always told that was the most stressful! It's not even in the top ten??
Network administrator. Now that is something I would love to get into, if only I could get a school loan! Been turned down 4 times because apparently I make too much money. Excuse me for paying rent on time :p
wow, not sure how they decided those lists, but I disagree with most of them.... According to those lists I have the third best job. Not so, I think the jobs listed as the 10 worst jobs would be a lot more fun, but little opportunity here... one day, one day.... And if they paid....

Virt, to be a network admin you don't need school. Grab yourself a used copy of A+ N+ off of Amazon, study and pay the $100 for each test to get the cert. Then pick a line in the Microsoft certs, or Unix, AIX, Linux, doesn't matter, or H/W manu - Cisco, IBM, etc and after about $800 in certs, many people will hire you for $50K/year.... Oh, and get in with a tech company... You don't need no stinking school, you just need a brain.... And as you're making monies, you can then decide to go to school or not. I'm not knocking uni, I have a degree, so I obviously believe in a higher education, all I'm saying is you don't need one FIRST...
All I've ever heard in this industry, is that you need a Bachelors degree on top of your A+ N+ to get anywhere. But, I'm going to take your word for it because colleges only want money and loan companies don't want to loan it. I have my A+ and just got it revised for the 2010 which was 3 new things, big deal eh?

I can take the Network + for $238 through CompTia like I did with my A+ and take the test for free at Daytona State College. I'm sick of computer analyzing because its not really analyzing, its more or less telling the client to stop downloading porn, and thats no joke. I just want something that actually pays me and that's puzzling, because I love that stuff!
Bah, it's all a ploy to make money out of you and your degree... You should get a degree one day, but get started in your IT career (not just a job), through certs and such.... I know boat loads of people making bank in IT who don't even have certs... Experience is the biggest + you can have in that industry, at least in this area. Certs help, and so does a degree..

You could always move to CO, ya know? :p

Its a love and hate with me and snow
Idk about some of the lists, others I find quite truthful after thinking about the daily hassles of each job. Right now I am working for US security and Cyclegear, plus a weekend job at a wedding and banquet facility called la mirage, all while busting my butt through school. The stress of a full time college student with three jobs- that should top both the worst paying, most stressful, and least fun of a job! Maybe a little biased.. :p
I'd give you a second on that Blackout... College sucked. So glad I'm done!
