:-X
Let me say that I can spin this any way I want, but in the end the result is the same: I went down.
Big (relatively) bike night, about 50 bikes. Everyone suits up and gets going.. I'm behind an older GSXR-600 who is behind a new Honda 230f Motard. There were about 10 people in front of him leading the group, this MF'er is holding up the rest of us... Go in to a couple corners like I normally would have, but he's so shaky on it that it makes us all slow down.. OK, no problem, back off a bit. Both the guy in front of me and I slowed back, but apparently not enough. The next corner, the guy decides he's going in TOO FAST, so he hits the brakes! That stood the bike up, made him go into the guys line in front of me so he hit his brakes, he did a couple tank slappers, washed the back end and went down. The whole time I'm on the brakes hard, but I've got it under control.. I'm not gonna hit anyone or go off into the grass or nothing, sweet! But then, when the guy in front of me goes down it snapped his mirror off, and it fell right in my path.. I had two options, either get off the brakes and lean (about 10' at 30mph, not enough room) or stay hard on the binders and hope for the best.. I stayed on the binders, hit the mirror and dipped to the side.
Damage to both the bike and myself is minimal. The bike has a messed up front fairing, obliterated tail section, scratched case and cracked blinker assembly. I have road rash on my knee (minor) and a cut/swelling bump on the back of my calf, I think from the foot peg. I didn't even rip my damn khaki's! Score!
Like I said, I can't blame anyone. I'd like to blame the Mo-retard, but the guy was just inexperienced and WAAAAAAAAY too far up in the pack for those speeds... It was just unsafe.
Oh well, you live and learn.. Flat black/street fighter, here I come!!
Be safe guys!
