OK let me just say it straight up... I was a Harley Snob!

You know what I mean, you'er riding, a Harley rider is riding toward you, you wave, they don't, generally 'cause you're riding a sport bike. Greater than thou they are...

So while I would wave back from a top my Harley, I never understood that sport bike thing. Greater than thou was I.

Eight years in to riding my 750+ pound touring Harley Road King Classic I got the itch for some twisties and sport handling excitement. Something that would put a smile on my face as I carved up some country road way on a smooth agile riding machine. I began to understand that there was more to motorcycling than a Harley. I was beginning getting it...

So after buying and selling several different sport bikes ( Honda CBR 250, Honda CBR 600RR, Harley Sportster 48 ) searching the various forums I came upon the Ninja 650. A Ninja? I'm not a Ninja! I'm too old to be a Ninja... Boy was I missing out. Still not getting it.

So after my time researching through all of the bike web sites, returning to the 2012 Ninja 650, I was sold after an 18 mile test ride! I found it and finally got the sport riding thing. A smile on my face as I let the world slip away cruising through any open road I could find.

So as I enjoy my Harley Road King Classic, touring with my wife or alone, it's even better knowing I can enjoy the best of both worlds. The sport ride is an fun, exciting, awesome experience! The Ninja 650 is a perfect, affordable sport bike for me, a great balance of power touring technology.

The bonus is I now share the sport bike excitement riding together with my son.

A lucky man I am !!

Here's to growing and hoping you can relate!

Welcome, amigo. If its any comfort, I've been riding crotch rockets for 14 years and have always waived at cruisers. Especially at highway patrolmen on Harley's.
