Anyone know of any decents ones to fit Ninja tanks?
So far I have gone threw 2.
One was a stick on I got off ebay, and that started pealing off ina few weeks.
Other was a magnetic that was always moving around, and finally just fell off.
Like stick on idea better, but it needs to have a decent glue.
Rascal Graphix have a good range, and when you apply them, grab your wifes Hairdryer (Or maybe it's yours, I don't judge ) and use the heat to make it stick better. Mine has been on for over 2 years, and doesn't even look like lifting.
Tank pad glue.....
I ordered a nice black rubber tank pad....
Came in today......
Kinda checked out the sticky behind the paper....
Same crap they all seem to use.
I know it will last maybe a few weeks like all the rest....
Anyone ever try a spray adhesive that worked?
I used silicone once, and it lasted about 2 weeks.
I do have a spray contact glue, but u need to put it on both parts to work.
I guess i can make a cutout from paper to keep overspray on the tank down, but....
I have never had an issue with the stock glue. If you use a heat source while applying the pad to the tank and keep pressing it down it should stay with no issues. I borrowed the wifes hairdryer for the task and it has been in place for 2+1/2 years.
When I put mine on - made sure tank was clean,wax free-alcohol wipe.then heated it up a bit with hair dryer,put pad on,heated it up a bit more. Been on for six months-not a sign of peeling at all. And it is one I ordered off eBay from china ,paid 4.00 for it
Did that same thing.....
:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:
The one i'm putting on this spring.....as weather warms a bit....
Will be glued on with GE silicone. People on some other forums are saying this works well. Just don't slosh gas on it when filling tank.
Who does that?
:dance::dance::dance:
Well I epoxied the fcking thing on this time.....
Blue painters tape holding it in place...
N a hair dryer on low keeping it a bit warm...
Lats see what kinda mess this makes...
I don't think there is a upside down.....:whistling::whistling:
I wanted the bigger part at bottom 4 more protection in that area from zippers, buckles...:thumb::thumb:
If it was one with a picture built into it u'd of course have to put it on the way the pic would show....upside up...:thumb::thumb:
Unless u ride on ur head....:facepalm::facepalm:
Maybe that is why it comes off,it's made to fit the shape of the tank,the wider part needs more of a surface. I'm just saying, I don t really know but I've never seen one that way
Same thing, but better quality. They don't have people watching over them in china for quality control,a lot of materials r inferior quality. It's a hit and miss
Just went out to the Portable Garage to check on the Ninja...
Tank pad is still on.....LOL
Expected to see it laying there sideways....
:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:
It's cold out-- 15 degrees F, nnn the tank was all covered in frost...
Even tho i have a tarp over the bike...nnn it's inside the garage...:whistling::whistling:
Get's a bit humid in there even tho I put vents in the Gables...
Maybe the pad will stay on a few weeks.....LOL
