Howdy
Nothing I'd imagine most of you haven't done before, So it's probably pretty boring.

But I thought it'd be weird to do it and post it up on youtube and not post it here on the 250R forum :p

Looks like 2 of the same video? Looks like fun tho :D

Good video. Make more ;D
nice, what gearing are you running at? I've got stock 14/45 and I usually run out of revs around 100mph (160kph), but it looks like you've got another 2K to go?
Bike is actually completely stock. For some reason 11k revs is as hard as my stock ninja will go.

Reaches 11k revs at 160-165kmh and has no more power left to push onto 13k revs. Spoken to the dealer about it they just said it was because to get the bike to redline in 6th gear I needed to modify it.. Which I probably won't be doing for about 6 months. :p
Nice run Ratty. 11500 rpm is the top of the power band. The engine will rev to 13500 in he lower gears. But once you hit 100mph the air resistance builds up and the engine settles down to 11500 rpm.More power is what the doctor ordered.
my bike is completely stock too...but i managed to get it up to 170kph on a highway, i wasn't even going downhill, at least not noticeable...not sure if i could go higher, but i chickened out...lol
Thanks for the Info darkhorse, and the comment. Appreciated.

And mines been close to 170kph since that video.. But not quite ccy..

Also uploading my next video right now.. No insane speeds or anything like that in this one but it's on the way :p heading to work shortly so it should be done uploading long before I'm back.
Howdy yall, I've been missing for a while but I'm back. I had a question. I just got back from a ride with the wife. On our way back we hit the highway and we gunned it. I always ride behind her just in case something happens. Anyways, she took off and I followed after her. She was waaay ahead of me and so i went full throttle. Nothing new, I've done that plenty of times. Always going around 100-105 mph. I was about to redline but it never goes past it, not that I"m trying to go past it. Well this time was different. Since I was going down a slope going 105 mph I pasted the 13K point but I didnt notice, until of course i felt the bike give me a nudge. I looked down and I was at 14K!!! I slowed down and took and cruised a comfortable 80 mph. Now, I know redlining is not good for the bike but since it did happen could I have hurt the engine? I mean, as soon as I let off the throttle it went back to normal. No hiccups of any kind. I rode it for a while longer and she still going strong. Anybody got any experience with that? Or any advice...besides the "don't do that"?

The extremely occasional fang on your bike won't hurt it at all :)

In fact they love it ;)

Also, New video is here!

I have made over 40 passes down the track at Maxton s Monster mile. I shift off 13500 rpm. Right at the rev limiter. Sometimes I miss gears and the tack bangs off the pin. I run the living piss out of this thing . No problem so far. these engines are tough enough for the occasional redlining
Nice one Ratty, any pics of your camera setup? Details of setup?

Felix

Heya Felix,
All I do is put my helmet on, open my visor, Put my camera infront of my nose and close my visor.

No Velcro, no cutting, no nothing, It's that simple. :p And the camera I'm currently using is an FE320. I'm considering changing for two reasons, Better quality AND longer record time. Looking towards a V570 or a V610. Unsure which I'll go for or even if i will yet, Depends if I can exchange this one or not. :p

Some more interesting video's to come soon.. I've hit a snag with editing at the moment and still need to record some more footage anyways...
Try and get a hold of a GPS unit and see what it'll do.

This seems like a nonsequitor. I'm assuming it's related and I just don't get it. Do you mean use a gps to track speed?

Yeah. The GPS is very accurate. Not like speedometers. In fact I use my GPS when I'm sailing my sailboat to help me get the most speed when adjusting the sails. 4.7 mph or 4.6 mph?

I used to crew on a Santana 20. And before that Catalina 27. Right now I'm sailing a boat I just finished building. A "Paradox". Do a Google for Matt Layden's Paradox. Here is a pic.
