Alright so what are the benefits and the downsides other then not having to pull in the clutch. Does it save gas? Save the clutch?
No real benefits other then not useing that clutch lever.
I do it up n down in gears most times about 2nd.
There's is a art to it without a jerking motion tho...

As I said before. Upshifting without the clutch no big deal. But use it for down shifts. When you don't the gears get a lot of force on the edges which does not happen when the clutch is pulled in when you down shift. This helps ensure that you don't break off small pieces of transmission gears which causes other problems besides worn out transmission but valves that don't seat well or at all to burnt out oil pumps and so forth

Alright thanks that was really helpful. So how often should u down shift or "engine break" when riding. I tend to do it every time I'm slowing down to a stop at a stop sign or signal light. Is it good to be engine breaking all the time or no?

Engine brake as much as possible but that's not the same as down shifting without using the clutch. I personally engine brake all the time to save brake pads and rotors. But mainly because I ride higher in the Rpms cuz I ride like I stole my bikes. I've got some old videos on you tube. Byte2022. You can see my Rpms are always above 9,000. They are videos from street riding my r6
