Running in

Guys...
I'm about to pick up my new Ninja zx6r (2011)
I believe I need to run it in before I thrash the living daylights out of her.!
Am I correct in saying I can't go over 40mph till the first service ...around 500milies?
Any advice would be appreciated :)

The manual will tell you how to break in the engine so have a look. If you don't have one try to find it online I'm sure its out there, or maybe one of our zx6r owners knows. Since this is primarily a 250 site I don't think we have one already posted for you to look at. Also, usually you have to keep it in a certain rpm range for x amount of mileage, not so much speed.
Bingo! RPM's are more important than speed.... There should also be a sticker on your brand new speedo which let's you know under which RPM's you need to stay for how many miles....
