AS my bike is totally black, I thought I'd have a go at some sticky wheel rim tape to brighten it a bit.. Ordered some for 20 bucks and apparently it comes in sections for easier application. Just wondering if applying its gonna do my head in and do I just forget it altogether? Anyone had any experience with it?

Patience is all you need.
My rim tape came in pieces as well, it's pretty common.
Make sure you use a cleaner before applying them like rubbing alcohol or something similar.

I too have a black bike and applied rim tape on mine. Although I purchased black tape that is reflective when lights hit it rather than choosing a color. But mine too came in sections. Just make sure you thoroughly clean your rims prior to installation. Use some alcohol and then a dry cloth. Take your time when doing it, if not it turns out pretty crappy, but if you take it slow it will turn out great.
