I pulled my snorkel out the other day just to see what it would do. It ran like poo. I think it was running really lean. I put it back on. But, I think once I shim the carbs it might be better. I really liked how it sounded. Once I do the RR exhasut, I am going to pull the snorkel back off and shim the carbs.

Haha, the snorkel is where the air is sucked into your bike for the intake. Ill post a link for the pic.

Yeah, we gotta give him some slack. I know he has about 50 other things he is working on for the site. The site is growing so fast and you guys post so much that it is hard to keep up with whats going on. Its a good thing though. Anyways, maybe some one else has the K&N filter mod on here.

does it hurt the engine if it runs too lean?? I mean i have the snorkel off also and it does run like poo at like 4xxx rpm. Should i put it back on or should i just leave it?

I think running the bike lean for a long time might hurt in the long run. I would look into shimming the carbs atleast. I put my snorkel back on untill I shim my carbs. Once I do that the snorkel is gone. I really like how the bike sounds with the snorkel off.

Yea, basically it has that roar sound to it. I found that the roar goes away when the bike is hot or it is hot out. But, I still like it non the less. haha

If its not detonating or pinging you're ok. Just going to cost you power. You would be surprised at how lean the bikes run at partial loads. However full load is where damage occurs. Lean conditions are normal under cruise and really low loads. Afrs go richer under load fyi..
