Random bolt found

I just took out my air filter and I found a bolt just laying in there.
I have no clue where it came from and I'm not sure what to do with it.
I've never taken the bike apart so I know it's not a matter of me not putting it back together correctly.

any pics of it. that might help, if not available check around the area of the air box

Sometimes when you take things apart, pieces fall off and down into other places. And other times it could be an extra part from assembly that was dropped.

Most of the time you can tell on reassembly where the part goes. Leftover parts is always a bad sign, "Where the hell does this part go?".
Don't be silly Max... Parts left over are just excessive and added weight savings... :D Kinda like rust... um, I mean natural weight reduction.... :D

You're really suppose to pick up the extra part, say "I wonder where this came from/goes?", then say "Oh, well...." and toss it over your shoulder and walk away. ;D
I'm having trouble getting a picture up...everything I pull up is too large.
The bolt is identical to the 2 bolts used to fasten the seat.
Host the image at tiny pic for free and copy the img img link

I've been taking my bike apart and this is a common bolt on the 250. It matches many uses, from the seat to fairings L/R to front fender, I think it matches the dash bolts too. It could have fallen off or like I said could just be an extra from being built, save it just in case til you find out or use it as a spare.

I lost one like it, fell out while riding.
Maxxy is right. Places to check right off the bat - your right side seat bolt. Remove the right side black panel (1 philips screw) and it pops right off. Any mods to your air box? I'm just trying to think where this bolt might have fallen off of to land in your air box...

Also, does the airbox have 3 bolts on it? Does the battery tray have 2? - underneath the seat.

I'll look on my bike tomorrow, and give other possible guesses...
When I found the bolt, it was the first time I had pulled apart the bike. So I know the bolt didn't get there because of a mistake on my part.
As I was putting my bike back together from shimming the needles, I tried checking in all the obvious places to see if the bolt fit anywhere. So far nothing.
I still haven't taken a look inside the airbox. I'll check that out tomorrow, when there is better light.
I found another bolt :-\
This one was lodged inside the snorkel.
I really hope these are just extra bolts that were lost during manufacturing.
