ok, first, is your bike brand new and what model is it?
The warning sound is something new that I have never heard of. I'm pretty sure both of my bikes don't have that feature.
If the bike is brand new, that burning smell may be from the exhaust settling in. Also the engine is painted as well so it could be the smell of the paint cooking, nothing to worry about, that is pretty normal.
Good to see you practicing, that is great. Get yourself into that safety course with an open mind, don't take anything for granted, and enjoy yourself!!
