Possible way to make a 250 quicker?

Is there a possible way to make a 250 quicker because i think I may just sell and get a 600. I know that the 250 is small but I cannot keep up with my buddies on 600's so I dont even ride because I feel embarrassed. LOL Exhaust should give it a little more power i know but what else is out there that I can do to it.

If nothing will make it quicker im going to sell

Sell it because your never going to be satisfied with the power of the 250.
how long have you had your 250? you won't be able to do enough stuff to keep up with the 6's, but with time on the bike you will learn how to ride it correctly and get the most out of it. my friend just recently got a 600 and i can smoke him right now because i know how to ride my bike a lot better than he can ride his. down the straight a way there is no way a 250 can keep up with a 6, but in town you can hold your own. i ride with 4 6's and 2 1000's but its still a blast because it forces you to get the most out of your 250. my advice would be to keep the 250 for a while, learn how to get the most out of it, and then up grade. i guarantee you that you will be a much better rider for it. however if you do want to add a little more power you can shimm the needles or add a jet kit along with the exhaust.

08 Kawi green, I agree with all the previous responses, it would be cheaper in the long haul to just buy a 600.. But, to answer your question:

You can modify the airbox, get an airfilter
You can modify/replace the exhaust
You can degree the engine and tweak and tune until you're blue in the face
You can change out the cams to hotter ones
You can change out the carb for slides
You can throw on an FI setup off the grey market from indonesia, there's a few friends on here that can swipe one for you... (Right Eric? J/K)

So yes, there are plenty of things you can do, and some gawd awful amount of money later you could prolly keep up with a stock 600... So, in the end it's cheaper to just buy the 600...
Hey think of the speeding tickets u will be saving on. Lol

But then again, can the cops really keep up with a 600 or bigger, so no speeding tickets! haha jk do not try that!
Hahaha I see on so many of today's British cop shows, kids on bastarding scooters escaping the cops through housing estates. Makes me MAD.
Yeah... true. But I rather get a ticket and live another day...or do it like the guys with the scooters lmao ...

it makes me very mad also.

scooters in this country give us bikers a bad name!
Hey add some NOS!! Like they do on the civics. Lmao... (just in case someone takes this seriously DON'T ) ;)
. You may want to look at the 650. It is like the 250 only bigger . A 600 is like a small 1000 if you know what I mean.

I cant help but laugh at the fact that scooter rats piss people off. It would make them glad to know it.

two words= weight loss.
in every aspect, weight is the devil when it comes to low powered machines.

yup. Smart man.

Two things to make your bike go faster. 1) Reduce weight wherever possible, but most importantly, reduce ROTATING weight; 2) learn to ride. An average rider on an r6 is NO MATCH for really good rider on a 250r. Seriously.
+1. spot on generic

you may not be able to keep up with the 600s on the straight aways, but in the twisties you should have no trouble keeping up
Haha.. Think of this.. U will catch up When they stop to refuel at a gastation and u keep going... ;)
+1 with hi-tech and generic all very good points :)
