today i decided to go for a long ride up north to a cycle shop to buy a new visor a gold one to match my bike i went their didnt get lots got my new shield ( will post pics ) and started to head home i was like man im having fun riding right now i dont wanna go home yet so i went to this hobby shop by my dads house right maybe like 4 blocks away i went inside got some paint to paint my windshield gold and got some paint market yellow to collor my tires i was in their for a about 20 min or so i go outside and on the main street mcdowell and 99th their was a accident i seen a fire truck i was like wow this just happened no cops where their or nothing so i get my gear on real fast and hop on the bike to take a look at what happened it was a motorcycle and a car that crashed right in the middle of the intersection it was a red and white and black cbr 600rr and a tuburan silver older kind their was a guy in the middle of the street conduction people where to go and drive as i passed the bike was tottaled from the front i guess the bike was going straight and the car was making a left turn and didnt see the bike and bam game over, the cars front end was pretty messed up and his windshield was broken as if the rider shamshed on the windshield before hitting the asphalt he must have flew about 20 feet or so 4 fighter fighters where their around him dont know if he was wearing any gear but i need his face and no helmet on maybe they took it off i dont know the fighter fighters where their first because their is a station like 2 blocks away and the speed limit their is 45 mph now say if he was going that fast and the crash was that bad wow that sucks and thats scarry, maybe he was going faster i dont know but it was f**** up thats my first motorcycle accident that iv seen i always see them on videos but thats my first i didnt see it happen i can only assume could have been the riders fault, or the driver. but yeah then i went to a kawasaki dealership to set up my oil change for tomorrow 60 bucks at 930 am and i seen a blue 09 ninja 250r iv never seen it that up close and its pretty small compared to my bike maybe because im used to my bike now but them little suckers are pretty cool you can take as many pics as you like but nothing compares to it as up close and personal with this 250 just wanted to share that with everybody back to topic yeah man guys be careful wear your s*** be a safe rider look ahead dont get distracted especially in the city and always have your lights on and when you come home the ride will be that much more fun!

If your bike is under warranty that'll probably void the warranty, be aware.
G
really? that would be stupid i should be able to take my bike any place to get my oil changes and flush and what not i doubt it though because they didnt say nothing like that they recomended me to bring it here but man f*** it!
Look in your warranty manual. But that makes sense I would do the same thing take it to the dealership that is closer. As long as there qualified to work on Yamaha's I guess it would be o.k.
G
yeah ill check it i mean when you buy a brand new car you can take it to any authorized place to have work on it right, and that dont affect your warranty unless you put aftermark stuff and that messes up the car id think it would be same with a bike right? ill see!

Exactly, or give Kawasaki a ring and ask, better safe than sorry.

If you buy a brand new Subaru, you can take it to any Subaru authorized service center, yes, but, if you take it to a Mitsubishi shop I'm almost certain that Subaru wouldn't like that and it'd void the warranty. It might be stupid but it makes sense from the business point of view. Also, if you think about it, a Subaru shop should know Subarus better than a Mitsubishi shop.

But I could be wrong. :-X
G
no your right about subaru knowing more about its car than mitsu, but its just an oild change you know its not like they are taking apart my motor and doing some dignastics on it, but business wise i think thats why they do it
but you can change your own oil and keep the receipts and not void the warranty.?? so if you can work on it I believe you can have anyone work on it. I will check the manual too.
G
true that! im to scared to do my own oil right now plus its my first wanna get it check out see everything is fine liquids and what not then from their once i have a stand ill start to go my own i like doing my own oild changes its a special bond between you and your machine, like making love... hahahah jk its marry again sorry
Nope, dont know about NZ or USA but here thats completely wrong. As long as they are a qualified mechanic and use OEM or equivlent parts you can take it anywhere. Its anti-competive behaviour, and a flat out lie. I know this cause I used to sell new cars and it was a common trick we used to use.

Sucks about the rider, but you just need to look at the stats to see that riders tend to be their own worse enemy.

yes see i was right! you can take it any place! thanks felix! yeah true that that was well said riders tend to be their own enemy
Subaru is a great car company but they do some sketchy things. When my buddy bought his STi they told him that since it was an STi that he gets one free year membership to the SCCA (amature road racing). Well he took it because he felt he had nothing to lose. Turns out, 2 months later he took it in to have it worked on (it had a boost leak somewhere) they came out with the $500.00 bill. Of course he said, no its under warranty, the car is like 4 months old. The mechanic said, no your warranty was voided because you raced it in SCCA. You took the membership and that voids your warranty. Pretty sketchy stuff IMO.

Anyway, just make a phone call, someone at either dealer will be able to tell you whats up.

I would think it would be the same as if you did it yourself, just save your receipt!!!
G
what that is weird id be mad how does that mess up your warranty? your just driving, driving hard its what the car was made for hence the sti subaru techinca institute but whatever id say take your car back now if he put aftermarket parts and that voided the warranty and took the course and it had a boost leak well thats on you, thats gay sorry he had to go through that, oh well i got my oil change next one is at 4000 miles i now have 1200 miles on it after todays riding i was alittle over 1 k when i took it in for the oul change to be honest i dont feel much of a difference but its healthy for my bike im down with that
