i lowsided on some gravel last weeekend and scratched up the right side pretty good. i am going to paint the exhaust pipe with some high heat paint....
is there any preparation i should do to the surface of the pipe before spraying it?

thnks for any info

rub back the chrome with some fine grit sandpaper until it's dull so the paint will have something to stick to, then just do light coats and build it up from there. Have fun!

success!! Besides the fact that I dropped one of the screws in the pipe and can't get it out.
I also painted the black part of the fairing. Now it's uneven, one side is glossy the one I did is flat. Hehehe

I found some barbeque paint this weekend at the hardware store that's rated to 1200F.. This is good news, because I've only been able to find 500F Engine enamel, and 2000F powder-coat in a can, which is a bitch to work with, so keep an eye for it, anybody else who would like to do this mod....

In other news, my finger hurts when I type, my tortoise bit it today while being fed....
