So I was looking at the ninja 250 Wikipedia page and it says 88-07 is faster than 08-12. In the spec table is says the third gen is almost 2 sec faster 0-60 than the fourth gen. Also faster in 1/4 and higher top speed. Do you guys think this is accurate? And why would they make the new gens slower?

When they went to the new body style, I understand that they lost some power out of the engine, I am not 100%, but I think it was in the vacinity of 5-8hp, which would certainly answer the question you have.
I think for the later model though, the weught has come down a fraction.
Some one will come in and correct me soon if I am wrong!!

According to wiki the 4th gen weight almost 30lb more. So it's slower and heavier... But looks nicer. Lol.
