This sucks really bad.
Was practicing around my neighborhood, everything was going smoothly and fine until.......was taking a left and got scared because I was turning wide and was so close to the curb, I paniced and while still in the turn, popped my clutch and shot me into a speed limit pole and dragged the bike about 10ft on its rightside. The whole right fairing is busted up and scratch and front fairing is gone. Lost my right mirror and turn signal.
Everything still runs perfect on the bike still and im going to repair it myself. I asked all the local motorcycle repair shops how much it would be and they said from $2000-$3000, and I was like "whaaaaat!, thats more than what i paid for the bike lol." So im fixing it myself, already ordered the parts (rightside fairing, front fairing, rightside mirror, cover meter, and signal) Everything came out to be around $600.
Sucks though, its going to be like 88 degrees this whole week and I dont get to ride... :(

*Its was a 08 Ninja 250r (Blue) with only 18 miles on it and got it for $2400*
Didn't have insurance at the time. I was still debating on which company I should go with.
I have insurance now.

Exactly what i was thinking
no way. dont report it. it will screw you so hard for so long. your coverage will go way up and stay up for a long ass time. 600 bux is a drop in the bucket when u think about paying ur upped premiums for say 5 years? even if it only goes up 200 bux a year... its totally not worth it.
and ill bet that it will go up ALOT more than 200$/yr
just my .4 kr
Shit! Looks like not a good week for ninja. Glad that you're OK Xninja. Suggest that you don't replace any of the damage parts if the bike still ride-able. replace them only after you're more confidence with more practice.
yeah dont report it.. you are better off if you fix it yourself.. if you cant find the parts already painted candy plasma blue you are better off repainting the whole bike and get creative with a different color. good luck.
^ya good idea. It'll save you money in the long run... Streetfighter?
Thanks, im ok.
Ive found some fairing same color as my bike pretty cheap.
Rightside fairing - $207
Front fairing - $160
Mirror - was like $40

Yeah, sorry. Well at least you're in the "Damn, I crashed my new ninja club" now. Welcome.

And, wait a little while before fixing the damage if it's only the cosmetic cause if you drop it again after you just got finished fixing it, you'll really be pissed. Might say the F word.
You know, there is a class that will teach you what to do when you panic. And guess what, when your practicing you get to drop their bikes!

Seems kind of worth it to get the knowledge and practice. Might save you a few hundred bucks next time your in a turn
Glad your ok man..... Well to be honest now that you went down you willl drive so much more safe now. lol

make sure they're for the same year 250R as the blue from an '08 is slightly different from the '09.
