Hello everyone,
I have been reading around and this place seems to have a tight-nit community! That is what made me join, o, and alos the iPhone app.

I do not own a ninja yet, but come this spring/summer I will. I have taken the MSF course (last summer) and been itching to buy a bike ever since. I live in Rochester NY, but originally from NYC.

Once I get my bike I will be posting pics and you better believe I will be posting question/concerns! I will return in due time.

Thanks and read you guys/gals around.

As soon as I can I will post a pic and possible mods. Right now I'm thinking leaving it stock until I learn what mods is worth time & money!

Hey Yall! Here's a pic of the bike I hope to purchase! It seems that finding a used green Kawi is a bit more tough than originally thought. I might have to try and buy one from the dealer ... but I rather save some cash and buy person-person, what's your opinion?

As for mods, like I mentioned in one of my last posts ... I am not sure which mods would benefit me. I definitely want frame sliders, spoolers, tank guard and K&N filer for starters.

If you're experienced at buying vehicles, buying from a private party is a reasonable option, and usually cheaper than from a dealership, however, if you can get a dealership to sell you a used bike with say 30-day warranty or something like that, you odds of getting a good bike increases - that is, if you don't know what to look for in a used vehicle.... Great choice BTW, except for the green. :p

Welcome to NN, I'm jealous of your iPhone, the Droid app isn't out yet.

Thanks for the advise. It seems the green here in Roc, NY isn't exactly popular either. Ill take what ever I can at the end of the day. The way things look though ... June will be the purchasing month. My wife and I are closing on the sale of our house and will apartment live for a few months. We were fortunate enough to reduce cc debt ad get a new construction home. I think we take possession some time late may early June.

Thanks for the words of encouragement zandit and thanks for the warm welcome delta107.

As owners you can imagine my urge to get one even more now that I have to wait. But it's the right move. If it is meant to be it will be!

Welcome to the ROC!! I'm running a 05 636, blue with a few mods. I love it. There are a few fun places to ride here in town but if you go down south to Danville there are a lot of clean twisty roads to blast around on. It's a great day trip.

I will be getting a 250. As for new or used - I'm still debating. I am debating because recently my wife mentioned to me she is now interested in riding with me. So, this purchase will end up being a learner for both of us, then she will keep that ninja and I will upgrade.

I'm trying to see if funds allow a new 250, if it doesn't I will search for a used. My wife loves the white or blue. We will not find one new with those color choices-so if she is serious and she wants a white or blue it'll be used. TBC ( to be continued) she's in Canacun with my son and mother in law.

Used 250's are all over the place. They are also a great bike to start on. If you guys do not know how to ride or are pretty new to it I suggest taking the course at MCC. They take you from start to finish. All you need is a bike and a permit. At the end they work with the DMV and give you a road test and then your license if you pass. At least that is what I was told through the grape vine. My gf is signing up for this summers class. As far as the 250 watch on Craig's list. People buy them for a starter bike and then move on to something else the next year so there are plenty out there. If you get a new one the retain their value really well.

Thanks Adesio, I am currently endorsed. I took the MSF course in Aug of 2011. Now it's my wife's turn. I have not touched a bike since the class though. Thanks also for posting on my newer thread 'new rider next steps'.
