Headed out new years eve morning for an over nighter in Weldborough, plan to spend the night in tent and check out the area a little.

left home at 9am and went via Frankford highway, beaconsfeild, Batman Bridge, Lefroy, Scotsdale, Derby into Weldborough pub at about 2pm.

Only 3 stops along the way for coffee and munchies and a look at the wood carvings , Set up camp at the pub and then headed into Sthelens and visit rellies for a cuppa.

We then headed to St Columbia Falls for a short walk to the falls followed by a stop at the Pub in The padock for a bear and check out the pig.

After an enjoyable beer we headed back to the campsite for our evening meal which there where no complaints about. Couple more bevereages and a stroll around campsite it was time to boil the billy before dark.

Well we never was in the new year but thats ok, we wernt there for that.

New years day and the birds had up at 5.30 am, well it was coffee and start to pack up then. We left about 7.30 and went back to Scottsdale for some brekky.

Full and fueled up we then headed for the sidling for our first look at it. Stop at the look out on top and the view is amazing. We then pretty much headed for home via Launceston and the old highway to deloraine and had a feed at the Raspberry farm.

After another nice feed it was then down the highway and home.

Think it was bout 700 kms round trip.

Yeah, thats the beauty of it Boar, with only a population of 500,000 and that is spread out pretty well!
Some of the roads we went on were brilliant and twisty with a couple of boring
highway stretches. Traffic was pretty light the entire weekend, except for the run home, but managable!
