Hey everyone I just bought myself my first bike! It's a 2009 ninja 250r special edition and I love it! Just wondering though, it didn't come with a manual and I'm finding a lot of different answers online. I wondered how often I should get my oil changed? Also I'm buying new gear cause mine is a little snugg and uncomfortable. I'm looking into some scorpion brand textile jacket and pants. Would it be worth spending the extra money on leather?

I spent a bunch of money on textile gear that said it was waterproof to find out it was about as waterproof as a cotton T shirt.
I hope i never have to find out how well the armor works...

I'll buy leather next time.

OOOOoooooooooo....n the oil changes.....
Someone here with a 250 will probly get back to you on that.
I have a 650 n use synthetic oil n do mine every 5000 miles.
Manual says every 7500 miles.
My bike holds 2.5 quarts.
Urs may hold more...
U'll have to run higher rpms to run on highways then me putting more use on ur oil.
So there's gunna be a lot of ands if n buts....
Wait a bit n they clue u in....
Who's on first?

thanks for the link to the manual L1felock much appreciated! about the textile, i found the scorpion nip tuck jacket and Women's Savannah II Pants. I wonder if anyone has any input on if they make good products. i have a leather jacket i can wear on colder days but i wanted something to wear so i don't die when it's 90 degrees out.

I have both leather and textile. Textile jackets tend to have better venting if you ride in hot weather. I haven't crash-tested my textile, but for the most part it's "single-use". I have tested and repaired my leathers a few times.

I say go textile for daily street use.

Very much agree. Textile for street. Leather for winter and track use for sure
