Hello NN.... I have been registered on this site for a while now and have been reading all of your informative threads for months now. Love the site!

I got my motorcycle license last year and it really has been killing me that I can't ride since I don't have a bike. In RI it is mandatory that you have to take the MSR class before you can get your license. I took it with my wife and I passed no problem. My wife on the other hand got sick the last day of the class and couldn't finish it. It sucks but she is done with nursing school now and can retake the test this summer. Anyways, I had so much fun in that class. I learned so much. I have never legally ridden a motorcycle before so I can't wait.

I finally got my bills paid off and I got approved for a loan. I am going shopping with my wife this Saturday. I am so excited and nervous at the same time. We plan on getting a bike we both want so eventually when she gets her license she will take the bike over and I will get a newer one for me. We are looking at Ninja 250r (which I think I am set on getting it), CBR 250, or a Hyosung 250. So both of us are going to sit on these bikes and see how we like it. But I really want a Green Ninja... :)

Also I am really sick and tired of everyone that I know trying to talk me out of getting a 250...... Saying that I am going to grow out of it really fast. I don't care about going 120 MPH, I am using the bike to commute to work and have fun on the weekends. I know on the highway I might not be able to get out of danger faster than other bikes but it will still go fast than most cars on the road (from what I have read).

So hopefully I will have a bike next week anyone have an opinion on the three bikes I listed?

Oh don't worry I will post pictures up!!!!! :)

Well I don't think you're going to get much support for the other 250s on here :)

Welcome to the board, great to hear how excited you are about getting your first bike. Growing out of a bike isn't a bad thing, it can mean your skills have improved to the point that you're ready for a bigger bike. And the misses can always keep the 250 while you move up.

yup, no love for the Hoysung and Honda here... I mean, we do have Ninja in our name... :p

Great enthusiasm... Even if you "outgrow" the bike... sell it and get a bigger one! :) But starting off with too much power has a higher likely hood of getting you in trouble... :)

So the wife and I went to the motorcycle store yesterday and ended up buying a 2012 green Ninja 250. It is getting delivered tomorrow. CAN'T WAIT!!! I also bought a green ICON Overlord leather jacket which comes in on Thursday. Pictures will come soon.
