Hello Everyone.
Got my Ninja 400R [Two weeks now] as a downgrade from a Fireblade and I am honestly happy with it. In my opinion, I don't think anything past 650cc is designed for public road use. Just track. Too much power that will either get you straight to the morgue or ICU if you lucky. Even a little twist of the throttle.
Here [Nairobi], the law is not that much an issue so we don't worry about tickets. You can go whatever pleases you. I have had various episodes with the CBR1000RRR that ultimately made me downgrade [ Having owned it for 2 years] . Call me a chicken rider or whatever but I think I did the right thing. BTW, I am 26. Been riding since 19.
I have had so many episodes and ultimately I decided a downgrade was handy. Most people upgrade! There was this one time I was doing like 160 kmph and since we usually have some rubble strips on our highways, I had totally forgotten about them! Hit the brakes, did a stoppie kind of and still bumped into the car in front at like 60kmph!
Our roads get washed with soil and sand due to winds making them totally slippery so cornering doesn't usually work most times. I have skid many times even when doing as little as 20kmph and just hitting the brakes when someone suddenly jumps across the road from nowhere [Welcome to Africa]!.
Nway, I am glad to be a part of this community and hope to learn so much and share. So far 1300kms and counting in 2 weeks!
P.S: Sorry for the lengthy read.
