New helmet & Gear (My first) & Bike Stand??

So i'm still awaiting my blue 2009 ninja, in the mean time had to buy some gear for my course.
Heres my first helmet a Shoei RF1000 breakthrough with spectre shield, how do you all think it looks?

I also bought a black zx kawasaki leather joe rocker jacket and blue icon merc long gloves.

I bought my gear locally as I had no idea what size helmet would fit and also wanted to build a relationship with the dealer as I'm sure ill need their help in the future. Helmet came to 680 canadian dollars with the visor, I probably could of got it on line cheaper but with the exchange rate and brokerage fees wouldnt of saved that much. The kawasaki zx leather joe rocket jacket was a gift from my Mrs, I think it retails around 400 u.s,

and I bought the gloves at Bow Cycle, here in calgary they were on sale from 129.99 to 79 bucks, bargain I thought!
I am pretty disappointed with the selection we have in canada and the prices compared to the u.s are a little outrageous but hey when in Rome I guess!

I cant wait to get the bike and test the gear out, I have been wearing my helmet at home trying to get used to it, is that a good idea? My course is 2, 8 hour days of practical work on the bike and I want to get used to wearing it for long periods so I can fully concentrate on learning the skills needed.
I have to say again that you guys are fantastic and this site is a great resource for newbies like me, i'm 30 and have been driving for 13 years (from the u.k moved to alberta 4 years ago) also have had my pilots licence since I was 18 not that ive done much flying in the past 8 years, so I really wanted to get my bike licence. All my friends advised me to get a 600, im 6ft and 200lbs but i really wanted to learn the skills and after reading through here looks like its the pefect bike to get skillful.
