How's it goin gents? I should be getting my bike this Saturday. It's a 2000 ninja 250. I've been getting a lot of crap from the guys at work telling me the bike will be way too small for me. I'm 5 ft 6in and 160 lbs. what do you guys think? At my MSF course we rode hyosung 250's and they felt pretty good.

Thanks
250 are fun and amazing machines ... don't judge them too quickly and with time you will see their true value. I am 5'6" 171 pounds and don't' feel it's too small. If you want to really learn and ride motorcycles for the long haul, then the 250 is your best bet. I've had mine two summers so far. At times I do feel I wish I had more torque or power, but I don't need it to enjoy riding. I am happy I can ride on two wheels. To each is own, and you will make your won decisions. Just make em for the right reasons.

Enjoy and be safe out there.
:welcome2:BE SAFE.....
I have cagers try to take me out everyother day....
Keep on ur toes.....
And on ur tires....

Ok, thanks y'all. They were telling me that the bike is physically too small and the seat was too low, but I doubt it. I'm not that tall, and I won't buy the bike until I've test driven it.

Ya I might, but I have only ever ridden a hyosung 250 and we only took it up to 3rd gear in MSF, so I still have to learn to ride at normal speeds around here which is anywhere from 45-65 mph.
Ya...get some miles in first.......
Then u can decide.....
It'l depend on ur riding types to what u'll need....

I have a 2012 zx6r now, but I started on a ninja 250. Its a great bike to learn on. It was fun, put 11k miles on it the one year I rode it!
