Yeah, the 650's take a standard 7/8" dirt bike style handle bars.
I personally recommend the Progrip 717's. They are nice and thick and take out some of the vibes from the engine.
If you are looking for a more leaned forward position, I would also recommend the Sportsbars from the Ninja650shop. Kawasaki Ninja 650R and ER-6n / ER-6f Parts & Accessories 402-934-6627
They are not the cheapest product out there, but they drop your hands by about 2-3" and forward about 1-2". Personally I got a bad back from riding too upright on the 650R. These bars made one hell of a difference! Some comparison photos are below:




Apparently clip-ons don't work on the 650's due to the fairings getting in the way, but the Sportsbars are made for the 650, and make one hell of a difference to the ride!

agreed with zandit on the sportsbars. I was pretty sure they were attached at the triple tree. That's why I asked. Sportsbars are the way you'll want to go. I had a friend add them to his zx14 and damn it was much better for our type of riding.
