Hi, I'm new here, so hopefully this is in the right section. anyway i was reading this topic: http://www.newninja.com/modifications/hmf-slip-on-review-%28picsvids%29/
I'm going to be getting a 2009 Ninja 250R and was thinking of getting an HMF slip on for it. I'm a completely new rider with no clue about exhausts. (but hey we all have to start some time). while reading that topic i heard a couple terms i did not understand, such as re-jetting and shimming the needles. if you have anything else you think i should know as well, feel free to post it. thanks.

rejetting and shimming the needles both relate to the metal needles inside your carbeuretter that control fuel intake or richness inside your engine.
A new exhaust will generally increase air flow and compression which will allow or possibly require more fuel, So the needles will need replacing (Re-jetting) or your current needles will need adjusting (shimming)

Anything else you need to know? Don't get the HMF. :p Two Bro's, Yoshi, Area P.
