I am in the market for a Ninja 250. I found a 2009 with 7000 miles on it. The owner says that he has owned it for 5 years and has only put about 250 miles on the bike. He also said that the carbs were recently cleaned and adjusted. Is there anything that I would look out for when I got to see the bike, or anything else I should ask him? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Waddup PDS! I dont know if you have already checked out the bike, but here at the dealership I work for we always look for signs of the bike being layed down (check for scrapes on edges of handgrips, exhaust, footpegs, and brake/shift levers/pegs). Start it up (make sure it does so easily), rev it a little bit to check the throttle response. Make sure brakes, levers, and shift peg all work. Check engine oil and also 2 big ones especially if the bike has been sitting a while... 1. Check the tank for BAD GAS (Been down that road) and 2. Check and make sure the battery is charged and working well.

Good Luck man!

Most of the things to look out for are cosmetic give aways such as ground off screws pegs etc however the biggest things in my opinion are going to be smoke in the exhaust being white or blue. Black is ok as that’s a fuel adjustment. And ticking or knocking during a quick rev and a slow rev. Any of those walk away. Hope things helps
