I'm having a tough time keeping track of my threads, so if I've already created a thread for this one, and you find it, please post a link so the mod can merge them. I'm too lazy to go look, I'm out of brain space... About to BSOD....
Rear swing-arm off:
The main reason for removing the swing arm, a leaky final drive drain bolt, due to worn threads:
All in the family, 1 without legs:
Naturally lightened drive shaft... That will get polished and greased before it all gets put together again:
Inside of the final drive, look how dirty!
The old, hack drain plug fix on the left, the original drain plug in it's new threads, and the tap to install the new threads:
Drill press and bit, no shaky misaligned holes here:
Hole drilled, tapping for new threads to go in:
New threads installed with excessive amounts of lock-tite, and original drain bolt...
Onto the rust spot on the swing I bought the bike with. Never forget to check your battery drain tube. The previous owner did, and is causing me all kinds of headaches:
Sanded down, and the slight ridge blended. I'm not gonna worry about sanding all the sulfur stain out as well, I'll just paint over that:
All purdy:
Onto the other rust spots:
And color rite has sent me the wrong paint, so I'm ordering more tonight. Will post the finished product, I hope I remember....
