New Ninja no more. The bike that is, I still want to hang around on the site if you'll have me, but the Ninja has been traded. Below is a pic of the new motorcycle:

Brand new 2009 Kawasaki Versys 650. I closed the deal this morning, delivery on Friday, so I still get to cuddle on the Ninja for two more days before I have to say goodbye. The Versys was deep discounted as "last years" bike and my 250 was still worth a decent trade-in with 14,000 kms on the odo., so with the blessings of Mrs Boar, I jumped on it.

Thats the way Boar, another 650 parrallel twin member!
Same engine as the Ninja 650R and ER6N, just with different cams and tuned slightly differently. They have a new Bright orange one at the local dealer that doesn't look too good though!!!

BOOO, Ninja's gone.

Yeah!, Versys is home.

Put about 55km on while driving the long way home. Wow, what a cool bike. It will take some getting used to the high seat, my feet don't touch the ground as firmly and flat as they used to. And proper gear selection is much different now. But its loads of fun. No pics yet, but I'll get some in the daylight tomorrow.

Thats what happens when you don't have the correct skills to keep it upright, and also not listening to your wife when she says "Slow down!!"

How long will you have to ride before mothballing her for winter?

Felix
Six weeks, maybe eight. Temps are already dropping to single digits overnight, so dayshift means a cold ride in and nice ride home and afternoon shifts are the opposite. Hopefully with the kids back in school, I'll get a couple sunny warm days to roll her out for some countryside touring.

OK, first full day with the new bike. I rode with the C.A.V. in the 59th Annual Warriors Day Parade. It was a little tough keeping the slow pace 'cause its a long reach to the ground for my feet.

Yeah, I do go to a lot of parade type events. I'm a Canadian Forces veteran and I ride with a group called the Canadian Army Veterans Motorcycle Unit. We are a national organization with units in about 60 cities across Canada. Our goal is to ride and have fun and we support many events, often for the promotion of our troops and our vets.

I'm 5'8", my inseam is about 31 inches. The Versys seat is 33.
