why... why do people buy zx14's... congrats, but why.. why not a zx10... or a 1000r
life lock you ask why. Well their could be lots or reasons but let me start off by say hiyabusa and the zx14 are considered sport touring motorcycles. The ride of the Zx14 is super comfortable compared to smaller bikes. People say to big to bulky. Yes the are big and bulky compared to smaller bike no doubt but in no way does this mean they don't handle or perform well in curves. I have two guys that actually ride theirs on the track. Not as nimble for Me if I were to get on it but they are both 250+ lbs. them on a 250 is like putting a watermelon on a toothpick. Every 3lbs is the equivalent or 1.2 hp so 30lbs is 11 hp. The tested on average weight for the 2011 zx10 was 162lbs that's 88lbs or 29.3 hp. Just at 250lbs which they exceed Take a zx14 hp minus the weight difference and it's nearly the same hp setup as the zx10. Still with me here. Okay. Good. Then think of this. Kawasaki doesn't. just call it the zx14. They call it their flagship. All the research put into this machine was based on performance and that doesn't just mean straight line but all around. Some people get it just for the straight line performance. No different than people who buy corvettes or Lamborghini's etc right. Right! Then you say people lower them put nitrous and. Do head work stretch swing arms and drag slicks. This is no different than drag cars. Why own a drag car? Why? That's basically asking the same question. So have you ever ridden a Zx14? I personally wouldn't buy one at this point of my life as I couldn't ride the same as I do now on it. But in a years when I'm as old as earl I will buy one or the Kawasaki concours which is the zx14 motor on a different chassis depending on if I decide to take big trips and don't get a Goldwing for them. Til then I'm sticking to my zx 10.

When u get to be a ol fatass .....:whistling:....u'll need a bigger bike urself....
I rode a couple year old zx14 last year........:thumb:
Wazzzz very nice, but not what i need myself right now.....
Also rode a used 10R n a Ninja 1000 n the z1000....
The 10R would be very nice n the other 2 1000's too, but.....
Insurance is just a bit to high for me to consider it....
The little 650 is half the price to insure n does me fine.....:thumb:
Heck if a 500 had the high handlebars it'd be just fine too....
Hell... I may go back to the old.......

Good points you made. I've personally never ridden a zx14 so I have no clue how they are as far as handling is concerned. They just look like they have poor handling and are built for drag racing. I just personally don't like the look of the zx14 compared to a liter bike or a mid-class bike. But that's just my personal taste.
