I ran straight pipes a long time ago on a 400 Kawi, but wasn't a Ninja model.
I did weld some washers in the end of the pipes to give it some back pressure.
Didn't want to cook the valves......
It was loud as shit man.......
I ran it this way no problems till i sold it.....:thumb:
