Looking at getting this

So I decided I have a major interest in mechanical work and above all, on motorcycles. I was able to get my bike back on the road (Albeit with someone showing me and lending a hand at times) but this seems like a good purchase and not overly expensive or too big of a job.

I'm looking to buy this motorcycle to fix and either keep or flip for a little profit.

What do you think?

Very hard to say how much ur gunna put into it?
Could be a little or a lot.....
Add really don't say a lot.....
It's gunna be aflip of the coin...

Not to mention being a 84 how much youll get on return after investing you could get stuck even if you dont want it. Odds are with a knocking could need a full rebuild sleeving the cylinders

Tryin to find that engine lol screw it get it check it out if its as bad as I think itll be streetfight it or part it out
How about this? This guy is obviously asking way too much for what condition he's selling, but it runs, I'll test ride it since I'll have cash on hand. KBB values the bike in good condition at $1,145, so I'm thinking it be more than fair to put a starting offer of $900 and or maybe $1000 but I'm not sure, what should I offer do you think because I can fix that bike from the sound of it (Won't know for sure until I see it).

1997 kawasaki zx6 $1800 obo fs only.
Well that add really don't tell alot......
How many miles...?
N that pic really really sucked.....
I'd be asking more questions n for some better pics....

High book (Perfect condition) on that bike is.....$1,780....
I'd start with maybe a 900-a grand if u feel u want it...

What questions did you have in mind to ask? I'm certainly asking for better pictures. He can keep that 'streetfighter' headlamp, I just want to make the bike mostly stock and complete with fairings again.

I think $900 would be more than fair since it's missing a lot of body parts, even if it does run, the cost of the fairings won't be cheap, but I always wanted that era ZX6, if you recall, I wanted the ZX6 as a starter bike..lol a year of riding experience, I'm ready for the upgrade.

I hope he accepts my offer, but if he does, those carbs are going to be a pain to clean on that bike.

If someone pays asking price for that bike, I'd like to meet them, I have some stuff I can overprice them on too..lol

Ur getting to know the drill now.....

Emailing him now. What is a tripple tree?
Where ur front steering is.....
That pace that ur front forks come in n ur handlebars sit on...
That turning tube...
That has bearings in it n if ur doing wheelies all the time it takes a beating...
That needs to be taken apart at times n greased....
same as the swingarm.....
Those tend to get neglected....

OOoooo....n oils in them front tubes should be changed after a while too.....

It's amazing, every ZX6 for sale on CL I've contacted, nobody has written me back, I gave an email and number to text, so far nobody has even had the decency to write me back saying "No". Will I ever get a ZX6? I want one so bad.. That and one of the new Brough Superiors.. :)
