How can I determine appropriate coverage for my ninja (not purchased just yet)? I was advised to make sure I have uninsured/noinsurance motorist of at least 35k. What's your thoughts?

I got a quote from Statefarm, progressive and Allstate,

Progressive was cheapest but lower in coverage.

Statefarm: $124/yr
Progressive: $107/yr

I believe SF has me covered 100/300/100 and body at 50k. Progressive is 25/50/25 something like that. Can't remember it all. So the more the merrier eh?

Nef, call Progressive back, make sure to always compare apples to apples....

FYI - I pay $338/year for my ninja 250, full coverage + roadside + $5,000 in extra parts/add-ons + $5,000 medical coverage through progressive after being with them for 7 years...

$550 a year? Is that for multiple bikes? What state do you live in?

Nope just the Kawi. My Honda shadow was $330 year full coverage through progressive. I live in Maryland so maybe the region has something to do with that as well. My driving record is clean except for a seatbelt violation almost 2 years ago. Looks like I might be shopping for new insurance again.

I don't believe progressive and Statefarm were apples to apples. I will call progressive and do that. And the 125 is full coverage. I told Statefarm u want same coverage that I have on my VW Jetta.

BigKawi.... OUCH! If I paid that in insurance for my bike each month then I'd only ride that and nothing else. I could see it being higher since it's a 1400 cc supersport but DAMN that high.
I did some online quotes tonight at work for all the big name insurance companies. Looks like Progressive is running cheapest and I was quoting for the top tier on everything with low deductibles. Quoted me $402 a year. Gonna call later today and see if that quote holds value.

I just had to go through getting Insurance for my Ninja 250. I called AllState (which I already have), Gieco, Progressive, and two others I can't remember. But for full coverage in my area for all of them except Progressive was over $1000 a year... Progressive was $320 a year and these are the same exact plans......

So the point is make sure you call a lot of insurance companies and compare the exact same plan with all of them.
