Well I arrived it was a horrendous journey, but what a buzz landing and being greeted by Delta and Spooph!

Took me quite a few days to adjust, jet lag + altitude etc. The Loser is a machine, great bike, very eccentric, and by no means a beauty, but it should do me well. Riding on the 'wrong' side of the road has not been too bad. Least on a bike all you have to worry about is the road, simpler than a car I think.

Had a few little rides around CO, mainly the Longmont area, what an amazing place, the mountains are everywhere and just sooooo massive. We also had our first small trip/camp up to Pikes Peak (http://www.newninja.com/racesmeets/pikes-peak-2010-%28pic-heavy%29/msg63521/?topicseen#new) which was just amazing, took my breath away in both meanings of the word.

Here are a few pics from the first couple of days... went shooting with Spoophs brother and a couple of family friends, that was great fun... gun laws being the way they are in Australia, this kinda activity is un heard of...

Arrival!

Spooph's house! keeping in mind that I live at sea level...

So the highest point in Australia is 7300ft... I was filling up fuel at nearly a 1000 ft higher :D

Seriously cool! and look at those guns!!
Thats one thing that makes me laugh whenever I am on a predominately American forum. The amount of people showing off pics of their guns, and how they are packing everytime they ride for self protection.
Don't get me wrong, I think it's ok, it's just comparing it to Australia with it's draconian laws that punish anyone from protecting themselves, especially with a gun!

Certainly will be! Redrider and I are going to have a few beers.

Open to any suggestions for sights to visit...

Felix

Sights to visit? There's always Tombstone, Jerome, Sedona and the Grand Canyon. But I'm sure Australia has it's own share of folklore, ghost towns and spectacular soil erosion. Getting a real feel for Arizona might take more time, than simply riding through...

Arizona is the place where a third of it's population, packs up and heads home to Canada, in the Spring. Bars close for the summer, and road rage becomes the afternoon pastime.

Arizona is a place where you can sit in your folding chair, with a deer rifle across your lap, and take pot shots at the black bears who stroll in to the Payson landfill. Or you can take that same chair and rifle, and sit on the Mexican border, exchanging shots with our counterparts to the south.

In Arizona you can walk into most any bar and restaurant, with a pistol at your side. You can legally end an argument, by brandishing your weapon. And you can keep your rifle, in the back window of your pickup truck.

Just don't get caught on your cellphone, if you are operating a moving vehicle.

Arizona is the place where every year, Chicago and Cleveland send their baseball players to learn at Spring Training. And it's where NASA sent it's Apollo astronauts to train on our nearly-lunar topograghy. Az has got it all....

I think you'ld have to stay a while, to get a real feel for Arizona.
