Regarding your question, from memory, that is spot on. Compared to my 650R, the 250R was always higher in the rev range at the same speed.

Zandit is correct and I verified when riding into work tonight in my 250. 8500 RPM is correct at 65 MPH. The 250 really likes them high revs and can stay there all day long. That little motor can sure scream compared to my Honda Shadow. I'm still getting used to it being able to rev really high.
