i just found out my motorcycle insurance is going up 321% for 2014
i currently pay $489 for the year but will go up to $1573 for 2014
thats because my 400cc ninja and 101-400cc sportbikes will be in the regular sportbike class oh and this will shock you
currently a 2013 ninja 650 is $1963 for 12 months insurance
will go up to $3785 for 2014 for 12 months insurance.thats almost half the price of the bike new.
the biggest problem is this is a government insurance so no alternatives.so i will be trading my ninja on a touring bike thats only $881 for 12 months insurance
so anybody wanting good used sportbikes come to saskatchewan, canada they might just give it to you at the end of this summer.
i might have to buy a versys and swap my 400cc for the 650cc.
i am going now to cry myself to sleep.

went to renew the insurance on my bike today and persuaded them to classify it as a touring/cruiser type because of the 2 cylinder 400cc engine and the more upright seating position plus i have never seen a 400cc sportbike race.so they changed it i was very pleased so now i can go to sleep content.:)

When i first was gunnna buy s well sportbike kinda.
I have the upright Ninja 650.....LOL
I had the wife call around while i was working.....
They quoted her 25 bucks a month american.....
That was A-Ok for me......No problem...
But...... after I went n bought the Ninja 650 I called, n story changed.....
They all wanted way more now......
Guess wife fcked up in what she wazzz telling them for a bike.....
Anyway they all classified the upright model the same as the R model....
I know there's not a lot of diff, but the R is made for track n road....
The upright one like i have isn't made at all for the track.
Probly totally would suck trying to even use on a track....
Well anyway I finally found a insurance that was reasonable at 50 bucks a month for full coverage.....threw AARP......
Now where's that local track?

here only one insurance company Saskatchewan Government Insurance(SGI)for vehicles it was developed to keep rates lower than private insurance.well i think its time private insurance steps in to compete.

U have to have competition to keep prices dropped...:thumb::thumb:
