No sence putting $$$ into a bike n then find out it is actually unsafe to ride

well that don't look real good.
But if the bottom end ain't bent u may get buy with just all new endcap n that adjuster n stuff, but u better have a shop really check ur bike over....

Myself.....
I'd find a shop with jig that can do actual measurements to see what's bent or not....

I know it looks bad. But alot of the pieces are just scratched. I took it to a motorcycle shop and they said it was totaled because of the gasket on the engine. But then they tried to buy it from me. I know the piece can be fixed. I just don't know where to start assuming nothing is bent. Where do i start next

I'd start by taking it apart as much as needed.
Ur gunna havfta replace anything that's leaking fluids.
N there are things inside the covers that need to be checked if they look like they been hit.
Plastics can be repaired to some extent with plastic epoxy 4 ur type plastic n fiberglass cloth n paints.
Ur tubes if they look bent at all need to come off n double checked.
Sometimes they just get twisted in the clamps n look bent.
Replace anything that u need to to be safe.
Shift levers, brake levers, etc.
Check radiator for any damage n make sure thats full n not leaking after u get shit back together.
Check tire rims n replace if needed as well as tires if needed...
When u have it all aprt look ur frame over really good for anything looking odd. Cracks in paint are a good sign it might be bent.
Also any buckles in the metal....or actual cracks.
N if u do find cracks only a qualified certified welder should be used to weld on it.
I used to do a lot of bike frame welding....
Most of it will be common sence, and knowing what to be looking for....
If u have no clue do NOT tackle this urself.....!!!!!!!!!!

I've looked the bike over many times. The forks do not look bent. The. Fame has barely took scratches. It's mostly fairings. I just didn't know if it could be bent and you not know.

Well if things don't look bent n it's mostly just plastics n a few thing.....
Just replace what u need then.....
Take the broke off n check online...ebay or amazon for parts....
U may have to google stuff to find them.....
Or buy from ur local shop...

Ok. After I fix the gasket. When should I try to turn it on and actually start it

After u fix any leaks n engine covers that are broke n make sure everything is at the right amount of fluids.....
Little help over here people.....

....layed my bike down hard.
Layed it down? Looks like you looped it. How long have you been riding?

It not only looks bad, it is bad. It's more than scratches and a gasket that's wrong. You cracked the engine crankcase and also the clutch cover. That's the big reason why the shop totaled it. They were probably going to buy it from you and sell it for parts. That kind of front end damage rarely happens without some frame and fork damage.

You should have taken their offer and gotten another bike. By the time you fix this one, you will have paid for another.

Honestly if you don't know what to do or where to start, you might want to stop riding.
