1) For a good fit on your helmet, should you be able to fit your glasses on your face without discomfort?
My glasses (to see with!) do not currently fit comfortably on my face because of my helmet... is my helmet too small?
2) Is it a bad thing to go from 6th gear to 1st gear while holding the clutch in and slowly increasing pressure on the brakes to stop?
Is downshifting necessary? What if you're only doing 35-40mph? Does going down 5 gears with the clutch in and using the brake hurt the braking system?
3) Is it better to drive with normal headlights on and have people flash you thinking your headlight is out, or to drive with high beams on and have people flash you thinking your high beams are on?
It makes me nervous not having my high beams on, because of safety and because I'm afraid an uneducated cop will pull me over to investigate.
4) Do you fill your gas tank while steadying the bike centered (while on it) or do you let it rest on its sidestand?
I'm afraid the gas will spill if I don't center the bike, or I'll do something wrong. But obviously there are disadvantages of trying to hold the bike steady and pump gas at the same time...
5) Will cops pull you over for 5-10 over the speed limit? I think a very arguable point is that the only safe speed is one where you are going slightly faster than the 'flow' of traffic.
I don't want to get pulled over for trying to be 'safe'.
6) Is it safe the rev the engine in Neutral or should you hold the clutch and rev in first? (risking an accidental clutch dump and bike splat)
I would love to hear the engine, but am afraid to rev too much for either scenario being bad.
7) There are some 45 and 55 mph roads between where I live and my work. But my bike is still in the break in period... (keep it under 4k rpm for the first 500 miles) I've got less than 100 miles on it, but I can't possibly get the bike to do 45 or 55 without flirting with 4.5 or 5.5k RPM....
Will it hurt to do 5.5k or 6k rpm during the first 500 miles?
Thanks guys, sorry for so many questions.
