I am trying to jumpstart my ninja 250r, and at first I could not find which end of the batter is the positive end. And every time I try to connect the negative. The plug sparks up on me. I am afraid I am ruining the bike, but I do not know how to jump start the battery.

where would it be labeled? i checked on the battery and can't find it anywhere. Nor is there a color scheme. And if jumpstarting it by car, the car needs to be off right?

You can always push start it but that isn't very easy either. Lol

There should be a small indicator on the battery next to the terminal or on the front of the battery in front of the terminals.
As a general rule of thumb, the positive battery cable is on the left side of the bike (as if you were sitting on it), negative on the right.

Make sure your orientate the battery correctly according to your bike.

The battery is in the back right, in the tail? Because I believe i found the bolts for the battery, but i don't see them connected to anything but the bike. I don't physically see a battery.

You will need to remove the seat to access the battery. Your owner's manual will have instructions for your model year bike.

Black is always negative. Get a battery charger don't jump start it. Test the battery to see if it's even worth charging. Motorcycle batteries die very fast.
