hello,in my opinion any 250 bike less than 15 years are ok,anything older might need many wiring or rubber hoses replaced.i had a 2002 it now has over 50,000 miles on it and still running hard.just make sure bike you are getting was serviced often and not neglected.there are many mods for the 250s
