I need advice from the peeps in England. I will be visiting England from May19th through May 31st. I was thinking about moving around mostly through public transport, trains and buses and such. Anybody know of a motorcycle rental place for like 2-4 days for me to just tool around for a bit? Anybody want to meet up? I'll be moving between Newcastle, Exeter, and Tring to visit the family friends I'm going to go visit.

Woh, travelling cross country then!! Not sure about the bike rental, I could probably find out though, renting a car would probably make more sense weather wise (The weather here is Very unpredictable). There are national train services, bus services and even short haul flights.

My best bet for public transport would be by train, but there are 'mega' buses that cost from as little as £1, but you do get to see most of the country en route i.e. the long way round! What airport you getting in to?

Oh also, if you're gonna go down the train route, the earlier you buy your tickets, the cheaper they are!

Tring?

BS

You mean Tring, Hertfordshire?

Maybe, you could be right. I'll have to check again with the people who live there. They've always just referred to it as Tring. I'll get back to you.

I have a little story about British Railways. My sister went to London by plane of course. But when she went to get a train to Scotland there was a delay because of the heat. It seem that the weather was so warm that the rails expanded and there was an unsafe condition in the curvyness/straightness. It never gets that warm normally. Global climate change is here. None of the hotels have air-conditioning either for the same reason.
