I was just wondering how many of you actually get your knee down of public roads? I personally feel really anxious about leaning too far on public roads.
A friend said to me pointing at the scuff marks on my tyre "you ain't had it over that far then?" I looked and there's about a centimetre of untouched tyre on the edge before it becomes the side of the tyre. My reasoning is beyond that "lip" on the edge of the tread there's no grip and I'm coming off, so a cm from it is pretty close right?

I would like to go on a track day actually. What is actually needed for a track day? A bike I assume XD and insurance but anything else? Maybe a team of semi naked women to cheer me on?

Insurance is not needed on any track I go to. Bike has to have certain things removed and or safety wired /taped. You need leathers too boots and gloves

Here in England all you need is an unrestricted license a bike that's passes a sound check usually around 102db ,one piece leathers or 2 piece that zip all the way round a gold stickered helmet (easy earl) you don't need insurance but mce do do trackday insurance for £99

theyre all good tracks and each track day has 3 groups novice intermediate and advanced ,I'm not sure which tracks are near you I think the closest maybe thruxton which doesn't do trackdays other then that you'd have to travel to brands hatch or silver stone and donnington are up the m1 ,snetterton is quality but it's a journey as is cadwell

I do know the pilot road 3's work very well on wet roads in corners....

On my bandit 600 I had battlax bt016 which had 5 different compound areas however my ninja has maxxis prema tyre which I think, though I'm not sure, are single compound but quite soft.
Though my issue I think, is confidence in going that low on the street. Any tips perhaps in getting that little bit lower?

Certainly not getting my knee down doesn't stop me having a good time out there :thumb:
