Best Gear u can afford.......:thumb:
I'm not gunna say go get the best like many will....but....
Search around n maybe post what u find here for opinions.
Myself i bought a 100 buck armored jacket....
100 buck armored pants.....
Then a while later got some Kevlar jeans for hotter weather.
Leather boots above ankle are good.
Leather or some sort of rugged gloves....ur hand are the first thing to hit the ground.
A Helmet.

unlike earl. I'll tell you that you don't get what you can afford. You make small sacrifices to value your life. Hence. You go grocery shopping eat pork chops a few times over steak to save 50-60 dollars. Put that towards a set of leather gloves. They don't have to be armored but must be leather. Depending on what you ride depends on the style of leather glove. That's why I Alden what you ride. Instead of buying stuff you can wait on put that money towards riding boots and some sort of leather suit weather it be one piece or two. It doesn't have to be the best alpine star or dianese suits but something that comfortable and fits properly. They have Kevlar jeans and textile jackets. I don't recommend them because I've seen many crashes in my day and nothing holds up like leather , NOTHiNG!!!! I attend many races yearly many local track days and a tremendous amount of riding days every year. I wear leathers all year. Granted summer time is hot and I may risk the riding jacket but always leather pants gloves boots and a helmet. When you buy a helmet understand dot does not mean safe. Their is a post somewhere that I put a video on showing dot versus real helmet standards. Shocking video. Ask your self how valuable are your toes hands legs arms and your life. Then make the decision on Ridin. Gear. Note most expensive does not mean best or better for that matter

Well im not saying ur wrong byte2002.....
Not everyone can afford much of anything 4 gear....
I just say try to buy something.......
Hell.....anythings better then just having ur skin 4 protection.
If u don't have decent gear u sure don't want to be doing stupid ass shit like stunts n driving like a nut.
I agree....Leather is best.......
But heavy pants n a heavy jean jacket is better then a fruit of the loam T n nylon shorts n flip flops.....
I see people here buy high performance sportbikes......
Then find out how much insurance is......
Now they can not afford gear......
So they are out pulling stunts in a T n shorts......
Dumbass.....YES!!!
So don't make it sound like i'm telling everyone u don't need gear.....
I just say get something......what u can afford......
Something better then a T.....shorts....n....sneeks.....

And I agree with that but for what people spend on other gear they can find decent leathers and a nice safe helmet. Might not say icon or dianese or another name brand that everyone know but you can find good gear cheap if you look. Also people shouldn't budget just for a bike but the bike and equipment together. You don't buy a grill and not budget for the Utensiles or what your gonna grill do you? Same concept. Buy a bike that you can afford with the gear but as I have said many times. My life is worth buying good gear if it's gonna save me. Whether I am riding in town. Interstates and highways, stunting ,racing, curving,or just getting some seat time. Yeah jeans are better than shorts and yeah shoes are better than flip flops but when I wreck I want as little healing time as possible in the event I can get up. One of my best mates and riding buddies just went off a mountain at deals gap. Full leathers etc. got up walked away not cuts bruises etc. bike completely totaled. I get your point earl and I agree with you to a certain extent but piss poor planning leads to less than stellar results and I wanna great result. I'll post pics in a second

This is him after the crash. Can you see his foot peg in the tree. This was at nearly 65-70mph coming down the hill. Not only was he not scratched but he was even able to walk down and go pick up his pick thanks to his leathers and good gear. It makes a difference.

A very lucky guy.....:thumb:

My bro in law hit a tree with my Honda 750 chopper years ago....
Don't know the speed.....?
We found him a few hours later in the woods......
We just happen to see the bike.......wrapped around a tree about 10 feet in the air....
We found him in some evergreens....black n blue from his knees to his neck.....out cold n helmet was cracked in half.....
He lived but his neck is shot.........
We had to pull the bike off the tree with a 4*4 truck n chain.....
I expect he was going over 100 MPH.....
We were all drunk back then doing acid n smoking pot......
Back in the 70's u know.......hippies n all....

yeah so i guess i should just get the best that i can afford cos man my life is worth being lived than being crashed...
Good gear doesn't have to be expensive just be selective on what u buy
