Front Sprocket

I want to change my front sprocket to 15 teeth, but I'm not sure what brand to buy or where to buy it from.
I asked a guy from Cycle Gear, and he said I needed something specific because the sprockets he had in stock were meant for 600 cc's and up. He gave me a quote for about $40, but I know I read somewhere on this site that the front sprockets were pretty cheap.
Anyone have a site and/or part number for the front sprocket?

Well I am on my phone at the moment, But if u look on the top right hand side there is a search option. Type sprocket then click search. It should direct u to the information u are looking for. Hope that helps

If not mistaken the old 250 sprockets fit new gen.

When you replace the sprocket, do you need to have the back tire off the ground?

it would help to have it off the ground. because it will need to be push forward to loosen the chain

I agree with Hi-Tech, doing a sprocket swap with the rear wheel on the ground would be a straight pain in the a$$...

It depends on how much you want to spend? I've herd great things about the pitbull racing stands they are expensive. and I have herd good things about the t-rex stands. Just depends on your needs.

thanks D! And yes CL, the rear wheel can come off completely, but you do not need to remove it for the front sprocket swap.... It's just nice to be able to have the rear wheel off the ground, so you can easily spin it to get the chain back on...
