I know many of you may read that title and think...it was probably his fault...but nay.

RIding down the road minding my own business...not speeding...just cruising along...maybe 30mph. I got to a fork in the road headed the opposite direction as me...one branch of the fork was crossing my direction of travel...damn cager came flying down the road and cut in front of me to get to that branch of the fork that cut in front of me. I did a hard brake...rear tire locked and slid from underneath me...I slid 10 feet in a low side.

Gear saved my life. Okay that is a bit dramatic...but it did save a lot of skin. My Shift jacket took all the sliding on my arm (cant even tell I went down looking at the jacket...there is not a mark on it). All I got was a little road rash on my knee.

My baby on the other hand was not so lucky. ***sob and sniffle*** The right directional got lodged inside the fairing, through a crack and there are some bad scratches on the fairing and on the tail pipe. Not terrible...but I would rather them not be there , you know?

Hate to hear that Joe, you think there is anything you could learn from this? Anything you could have done different, even though the cager came out of nowhere?

Ever since I started riding, I began to see cagers doing things before they knew what they were doing themselves. You kinda get a sixth sense... all that said, sometimes there is NOTHING you can do. Bastards.

Hope the knee gets better!

Felix

Thanks guys. It actually isn't turning out that bad. She was cited at the scene so her insurance is going to pay for everything. And I'm actually going to get a 2 Bros. slip-on kit and $150 out of the deal (aftermarket pipe is less expensive than stock...go figure)!
